This is the biggest property in Pic St Loup, the district anointed by both Parker and the Spectator Languedoc's best.The vineyards are 15 to 20 miles inland from the Mediterranean and almost 2000 feet above sea level. Summer days are blazingly hot, 103 fahrenheit or more. Nighttime temperatures always drop below 60 and often below 50!

"Aromas of white peach, lime, kumquat, white pepper, honey, and lavender in their 2007 Roussanne lead to a dense, subtly oily, yet juicy, refreshing palate featuring salt and pepper-dusted melon and citrus. This really fans out in the finish, with herbal and floral notes re-emerging. I'm not sure what would become of it after a couple of years, but it will certainly hold that long at least – if you can keep your hands off of it! Lancyre hasn't just turned in another white wine performance you would not expect in Pic Saint-Loup, they have really outdone themselves this year! $20"
