Benton-Lane is located in the southern Willamette Valley of Oregon where warmer temps yield more consistent vintages. They produce pinot gris and pinot noir with seven clones with five different rootstocks and four trellis systems. Benton-Lane is one of the few Oregon vineyards to be certified under the L.I.V.E. program out of Switzerland and is also certified Salmon Safe. Instead of punching down or pumping over, Benton-Lane wets the cap via 'Pulse-Air' in which large bubbles gently mix the cap. This produces wines with concentrated flavor but without the usual bitter tannins. Benton-Lanes' wines are "One of the World's healthiest Wines". Their wines have been tested as having some of the highest recorded levels of Resveratrol, which is a very powerful anti-oxident. |

2007 Vintage: - 88 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Issue #184 “The 2007 Pinot Noir Estate (of which there are 20,000 cases) exhibits a perfume of clove, cinnamon, and allspice along with fruit aromas of black cherry and plum. Elegant on the palate with light tannin and just enough sweet fruit for balance, this medium-long effort will drink well for another 3-4 years. $25 – J.M.” 2004: - 90 Points + Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2006 "Light and immensely appealing for its delicacy and suppleness,
offering pretty raspberry and strawberry flavors that pick up hints
of white pepper and fresh mushroom as the finish sails on." |
